This year, the Mini sailors set off from the Pornichet Select 6.50 on Saturday, May 2, under stormy skies, but with stars in their eyes! On our side, we are proud and delighted with our partnership with the race, now firmly established over time.
A must-attend event with generous prizes
The Pornichet Select 6.50 is the first offshore race of the season for the French Mini Class Championship. The 300 nautical mile journey is undertaken solo and without any means of communication, a perfect training exercise ahead of the fleet’s ultimate goal: the Mini Transat!
For this 25th edition, we made a strong impression (as striking as the lightning on race day!) by awarding an Orbit Winch™ by Ronstan to the first Proto, a Proline'R (an essential safety item!) to the first Series boat, and by hosting an aperitif in Wichard & Profurl colors for all Mini Class competitors on Thursday, April 30.
An adventure shaped by exchanges and encounters
Memorable, joyful moments and one clear takeaway: we’ve successfully etched our “W” into the hearts of this new generation of skippers.
We were also closely following skipper Marie Gillier, who wasn’t chasing performance, having only taken possession of her Mini Ma n°1053 a few days earlier.
Marie has now become a key partner, joining the all-female team Les Déferlantes, founded by Sasha Lanièce. The young competitor put in a strong performance and led a promising race!
Many thanks to Ultim Sailing for their lightning-precise organization!
Congratulations as well to photographer Alexis Courcoux and the entire audiovisual team for the stunning images provided.
